Policy on Animals

Alano Club of Fairbanks

Purpose:

It is the responsibility of the Board of Directors to protect the liability of this corporation. There are

animals that are of good temperament and animals that require tending. Due to the various

temperaments of animals this policy will be placed into effect.

Guidelines:

All pets on Alano Club property must be on a leash or confined in owner's vehicle, if unleashed.

The Alano Club welcomes both service and comfort animals but limits service and comfort animals to

dogs only, who are well behaved, on a leash, and under 60 lbs. Only certified service or comfort animals

are allowed in building; this includes on steps and decks. Service animals require a collar or apparel

indicating the designation. Owners can legally be asked what specific services the dog provides. And

documentation in the form of prescriptions, etc. must be provided. If the animal is or becomes a

nuisance, only the animal will be asked to be removed from the building. In the case of meeting

attendees who are allergic to dogs, separation between the afflicted attendees is recommended. Animals

are not to be on any furniture and to be kept at owner's feet on the floor.

This is the action the Board will take in cases when animals are not restrained:

1. 0wner will be asked to restrain their animal.

2. Owner will be asked to keep dog out of building.

3. The borough animal control will be called to impound animal and animal will not be allowed on

Club property.

4. The Board will review submitted written incidents at the next scheduled Board meeting.
