Alano Club of Fairbanks Rules

1. While the Alano Club is for the use of club members, being a member of the Alano Club Is different than being a member of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). To be a member of AA, one simply says they are a member, however, to be a member of the Alano Club a completed application (available on upstairs and downstairs bulletin boards) is submitted to the Board of Directors for approval and $20 monthly dues are paid. If you are paying monthly dues and your name appears on the list downstairs on the bulletin board by the office, then you are an Alano Club member. You can be a member of AA and not be a member of the club.

2. Alano Club non-members are welcome to access the building for 30 minutes before and after meetings and during Alano Club sponsored events (such as, holiday celebrations, dances or karaoke). 

3. Club members are welcome to have one non-member guest downstairs.

4. Children are not club members and must be supervised at all times by their responsible parent or guardian. This is to include club members and non-members during meetings and club events.

5. Club computer use is for members only and use is limited to 30 minutes. Guests and children are not to use the computer.

6. No sleeping in the club; upstairs or downstairs is allowed.

7. No storing of personal items Inside or outside the club is allowed.

8. The pool table downstairs is for members and guests over 18 years of age. No children are allowed to play with the pool table.

9. Weapons, as described in policy, are not permitted in the club or on club property.

10. Certified service and comfort dogs under 60 pounds, well behaved on a leash are allowed In the club area; as described In the policy. Please always keep your dog at your side or feet and off the tables, counters and chairs.

11. Kitchen downstairs is used only for scheduled events approved by the club board.

12. Only club members doing 12 step work are allowed upstairs but must wrap up 30 minutes before a meeting start time.

13. The 12 Step room downstairs door is to remain open unless AA 12 step work is being conducted and then it can be closed.
